The Labelfish consortium are very happy to announce the publication of the paper “Low mislabeling rates indicate marked improvements in European seafood market operations” in the journal Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment. A total of 1563 samples were taken from 19 cities in six European countries (Spain, UK, Ireland, France, Portugal and Germany). The results showed an overall mislabelling rate of 4.93% which can be further broken down into the following country-specific mislabelling rates:
- France – 2.7%
- UK – 3.25%
- Ireland – 3.9%
- Germany – 6.21%
- Portugal – 6.7%
- Spain – 8.9%
